WRAPPING MEMORY
Illustration
Wrapping Memory is an initiative by Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem that aims to capture and commemorate the beauty of the region of the Gaza Envelope as it was before the tragic morning on October 7.23. It is dedicated to raising money for the people who were harmed that day.
My contribution is an illustration inspired by the anemone bloom in that region and the ‘Red South’ festival, who’s name takes on a new, horrific meaning. I have a close relationship with anemone fields, growing up in the city of Karmiel which uses the anemone as its official symbol.
